The Holiday Table with Atelier Saucier
Nikki Reed and Staci Inspektor, the visionary best-friend duo behind ATELIER SAUCIER, have redefined the art of hosting with a modern take on sustainable table linens. Combining their expertise in food and fashion, they create heirloom-quality designs that seamlessly blend reclaimed fabrics with a flair for the customizable and chic. The result is tablescapes that are as effortlessly timeless as they are unique. At Lunya, we’re inspired by their ethos, creativity, and friendship. You are passionate hosts-- please share your tips for those of us who will have a full house for the holidays.
Prep, prep, prep! Take away the stress of cooking everything on the day-of, by prepping whatever you can a few days before. Setting the table the night before is a must, so you are able to play with it, tweaking it to perfection with fresh eyes the next morning. Another sneaky secret - we like to set out all of our serving dishes and label them in advance, so when it comes time to serve we aren’t on the hunt for the perfect dish + serving utensils.
Although we love a bustling soiree, we also revere an early bedtime. How do you give guests the mindful & demure hint it's time to go home?
Offering guests a final glass of wine, coffee or tea usually does the trick!
Walk us through how to set the perfect table.
Have fun with it! We love mixing colors and textures to bring that wow factor to any gathering. Bonus points for handwritten menus - it can be a sweet touch for hosting at home and a personalized way to make your guests feel extra special and have a keepsake to take home with them. We also love dressing our table with seasonal blooms and using fruits + veggies from our local farmers market as tabletop decor.
Atelier Saucier and Lunya are similarly obsessed with fabric. Tell us about how you source and what you prioritize.
Our brand ethos is to be eco. The planet is our priority. All of our linens are sustainably-sourced, rescued, repurposed and locally made in Los Angeles. We hand-pick surplus, premium fabrics sourced from LA’s fashion houses so that no two styles of napkins are alike. We are obsessed with reclaimed textiles and hard-to-find textures including luxe linens, rich cottons, fresh denims, and sumptuous chambrays. Think heirloom-quality materials that wash and wear like a dream – just like your favorite pair of jeans. Our small batch production process ensures no excess inventory or waste.
Clearly you welcome friends and family into your homes on a regular basis, but your business is centered around the modern table. How do you think about the guest bedroom? How do you bring your design sensibilities to rest spaces?
Similar to hosting a dinner party, the guest bedroom is all about making company feel welcome. The softest bedding, warm lighting, and fresh flowers on the nightstand can go a long way in making your guests feel right at home. If one of our sisters are spending time with us, we make sure to fill the shower / bathroom with their favorite products!
We're all about piped details this holiday. Tell us about your favorite color combos of the moment.
Some of our favorite color combos at the moment can be seen in our latest Fall / Winter Collection: ruby red and coral, hunter green and bronze, canary yellow and bright red.
