The Quiet Rituals of WFH with Mandy Pierce
Some people log on. Mandy Pierce curates the day. A content creator who shoots on 35mm, she shows us how quiet, unassuming details, like soft fabrics, warm light, thoughtful styling, can elevate the workday rhythm. Keep scrolling, your WFH mood board starts here.
What’s the first thing you do when you sit down at your desk each morning?
After grabbing a coffee from the kitchen, I start by checking my emails. Before logging off for the day I check tasks for tomorrow to see if I start with computer work or photographing content.

Do you have a ‘start the workday’ outfit formula?
I usually always reach for something neutral & elevate it with accessories. Comfort without sacrificing style is key.
How has working from home shaped your relationship with getting dressed? What gets you out of the leggings-and-hoodie spiral?
It’s definitely easy to fall into the hoodie & leggings funk. Working from home allows me to experiment with my personal style like colors & textures I wouldn’t normally gravitate towards. Days when I shoot content are always fun because I get to play dress up with different outfits & some time away from my laptop for a little.

Your home office is enviably serene. How did you go about designing a space that feels both productive and peaceful?
Thank you! Aesthetically, I am drawn towards spaces that are cohesive & minimal yet lived in. I love to collect vintage furniture pieces that look good but also function well in my space with little clutter. Just like my wardrobe, I still crave those neutrals & comforting hues/texture for a productive work environment.

What’s one item in your home office that has no practical purpose but brings you joy anyway?
My vintage postcards I collect from all over. Pretty much pointless in my office space, but I love nostalgia.

We’re obsessed with your Cottonsilk™ look today, equal parts soft and structured. How do you style elevated pieces like this when you’re not leaving the house?
I love adding accessories. Some earrings, a neutral lip shade & finish the look with a comfortable yet chic pair of loafers.

You’re clearly someone who makes rest look good. How do you carve out softness and slowness between meetings and deadlines?
I balance a workday with coffee breaks in the living room with my cat Ollie or a long walk in nature just to reset & clear my head.
This time of year tends to feel like a fresh start. As the seasons shift into fall, are you making any shifts, yourself?
Just a small shift. As autumn approaches I like to do a closet clean out. Clear out some pieces I do not reach for enough & get ready for the fall/winter months. More recently I am gravitating towards less over consuming & building a timeless more sustainable wardrobe.

Any advice for making the work-from-home rhythm feel a little more romantic? Or at the very least, a little less like Groundhog Day?
Working from home can feel monotonous at times no doubt. My advice is get some fresh flowers from the store (or your garden) & light your favorite candle. These small things for me break up the stagnant everyday routine. I highly recommend it.
