Torin Ashtun is GOOD IN BED*
*Think: Yoga, Crystals, and Peace of Mind
From down dogs to conversations with higher powers, Torin Ashtun seems to have this whole bed thing figured out. Multimedia artist by day and self-loving, crystal donning, yoga-doing by bed, she knows the importance of resting and resetting for good days ahead.
What does good in bed mean to you?
Waking up with a peace of mind ready for whatever the day has in store for me. Starting my day with peace assures my control over how my morning, afternoon, and evening play out. Thankfully most days are good days in bed.
What (or who) is currently in your bed.
My loving boyfriend Deon is in my bed along with the warmest blankets in my house. I love a cozy bed where I can cuddle all day and all night. I’m also a big fan of fall tones so my bedding is all warm shades of brown and orange.
Describe how you would spend an entire day in bed.
I would start with not waking up until noon. Then I would order food so I wouldn’t have to cook and take it straight back to the bed. I would then spend the whole day watching shows and movies with my love.
Bedtime ritual you can’t live without?
Showering, washing my face, and moisturizing. Knowing that I’m going to bed with a clean body helps me sleep at ease.
How do you make your bedroom a sanctuary?
I filled it with crystals specializing in cleansing as well as self-love. For cleansing I keep a Himalayan salt lamp on at all times. For self love I have rose quartz and rhodonite.
What would people be surprised to learn you do in bed?
I pray every night and every morning. This keeps me in-tune with a higher source than myself.
First thing you do when you wake up?
Rip the blanket off of my body because it’s really hot in the morning. Then I immediately do a downward facing dog yoga pose in my bed.
Last thing you do before you go to sleep?
Drink a big glass of water.
I hit the snooze button at 8 AM every morning.
Favorite thing to wear to bed and why?
Lunya’s Washable Silk because it’s so soft.
What can we currently find on your nightstand?
All the gold jewelry I wear every day on my nightstand along with a burning white sage incense.
